A man from Loch Sport has admitted he had a hard time convincing his wife that he had actually won more than $67,000 in a recent Keno draw after she initially thought he was pulling her leg.

The Central Gippsland resident scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in draw 69, drawn Thursday 14 March 2025. He looks forward to a total prize of $67,315.00.

“I was in shock,” he exclaimed.

“I was sitting at the club with some friends, and we noticed on the Keno screen that someone from Lakeview Bar and Bistro had won a major Keno jackpot.

“I turned to the boys, and I said, ‘Oh! Oh! That could be me! I think I might have that!’.

“The team member at the venue scanned my ticket and confirmed the win. I rang my wife straight away and she thought I was pulling her leg.

“I said, ‘No darling, we’ve actually won $67,000!’.

“It took her a while to believe the news, but she started to scream when she realised it was real.

“I’m retired but she is still working away. This will help us in many ways.

“It’s actually our 50th wedding anniversary next month. We weren’t going to do anything but now that we’ve won this prize, we will have to celebrate.

“I also need a new trailer – it’s been on the wishlist for a while!

“Thanks for the winning phone call!”

His winning Keno Classic entry was purchased at Lakeview Bar and Bistro, 1-3 Basin Boulevard, Loch Sport.

The Lakeview Bar and Bistro team were overjoyed to have sold a major Keno winning entry to a local man and wished him all the best with his future.

In 2024, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 76 million wins collectively worth more than $1.19 billion.

During this time, Keno crowned 23 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $54.9 million. Two of these major winners were from Victoria, including a Melton man who pocketed more than $2 million.

Victorians enjoyed more than 10.1 million Keno wins totalling more than $139.2 million across the state in 2024.
