A Bathurst man’s 20 year-long Keno tradition has paid off in a big way after he landed a marvellous $65,000 prize, leaving him shaking and speechless.
The Central Tablelands player scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 156 on Friday 6 February 2026. He pocketed a total prize of $65,712.00.
“It’s been an awesome weekend!” he cheered when speaking to an official from Keno.
“I’ve been playing Keno for 20 odd years, and I’ve never won anything like it.
“I always play 6 or 8 numbers with some random picks.
“I usually just treat myself to a ticket, put it in the wallet, and hope for the best.
“I was standing in the venue when I saw the Keno prize had gone off. I looked around and I didn’t see many other people playing, so I thought I was in for a good chance.
“I was just overjoyed. It’s a hard feeling to explain.
“I think I went mute for a little bit. I was in a fair bit of shock.
“It’ll be a big help. Thank you so much!”
His winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was purchased at Dudley Hotel, 250 Stewart Street, Bathurst.
Dudley Hotel assistant manager Isaac Bower shared it is always exciting to have a major prize go off in venue worth more than $65,000.
“It’s always exciting selling a major-prize winning ticket! It’s always a reminder to our community that if you have a ticket into the draw, you’re in it with a chance to win,” he said.
“Over the years, we’ve had several big wins in our venue. It was only a couple of years ago that the 10 Spot went off here and that created a real buzz.
