A buck’s night in Batemans Bay took an unforgettable turn on Friday when a local man and his mates pooled their cash for a Keno ticket and scored a thrilling $79,000 win.
The South Coast winners held a Keno Mega Millions 8 Spot winning entry in draw 480, drawn Friday 13 March 2026. They look forward to sharing a total prize of $79,164.70.
One of the mates admitted the win still felt surreal days after the draw.
“I’m very good! Is it real? It feels like a dream!” he laughed.
“I still can’t believe it. I need to soak it all in.
“There was four of us at the club and we were there celebrating a buck’s party. We all decided to put a ticket in and then the next thing we knew, we had won a major jackpot!
“My dad was also there but he doesn’t believe it. I’m always stirring him up, so he thinks it’s some sort of joke even though he saw the winning numbers - ha-ha!
“It feels good to finally win something!”
When asked how he might enjoy his share of the windfall, the happy man revealed he would be wise with the prize.
“I’ll be paying off some of the mortgage and my bills,” he revealed.
“I’ll also do some renovations around the house.
“Thank you!”
Their winning entry was purchased at Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, 2 Beach Road, Batemans Bay.
Batemans Bay Soldiers Club CEO Paul Biddlestone shared the win had caused quite a stir in the club.
“It’s very exciting! The team was rapt to be a part of the winning moment. It certainly created a buzz in the venue when it happened on Friday night,” he exclaimed.
“We will be celebrating this amazing occasion by telling all our customers and patrons about the major Keno win.
“Congratulations to our major Keno winner! We wish you all the very best and thank you for supporting us.”
