After finishing work for the day, a Bateau Bay man popped into his local venue to enjoy a game of Keno over dinner and has walked out a millionaire.

The New South Wales player held a Keno Classic 10 Spot winning entry in game 961 on Thursday 13 January 2022 and took home $1,067,380.30.

It’s the fourth Keno 10 Spot prize won so far this year.

“I am feeling pretty bloody good,” the winning man laughed when speaking with an official from Keno.

“It’s unreal – I’m a millionaire!

“I’d just ducked into the pub after work to catch up with some mates over some dinner.

“I don’t play Keno very often, so I wasn’t even watching the draw.

“A friend told me that the 10 Spot went off at the venue, but I never expected to win, so it took me a little bit to check my ticket.

“I was with all my mates when I finally checked my ticket, and we started jumping up and down and cheering when we found out about the win.

“We were quite rowdy about it all! We were carrying on quite a bit.

“Honestly, I can’t really describe the feeling. It was unbelievable. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

“We celebrated into the night and I’m just relaxing today and letting the news sink in.

“Basically, I’ve been wanting to get into the housing market and now I can. It’s awesome!

“I’d really like to take some time to just kick back and relax a little, too.”

The Keno Classic winning entry was purchased at Bateau Bay Hotel, Cnr The Entrance Rd & Lumby Drive, Bateau Bay.

Bateau Bay Hotel manager Simone Lecher said the entire team was celebrating the massive win.

“What an awesome win!” she said.

“It was amazing when the win went off. I wasn’t in the venue, but one of the other managers called me to let me know and I could hear how excited everyone was.

“All of our other patrons are hoping they’re next to win the big one.

“We are so happy for the winner and really wish him all the best with his prize. What a great way to start the new year.

“Hopefully we have some more major Keno wins here soon.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.
