A Bateau Bay man has confessed to not believing his eyes when he checked his Keno ticket this morning and discovered he had won a Keno 8 Spot prize worth over $54,000.

The Central Coast man held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 43 on Wednesday 15 May 2019, serving him a $54,813.60 windfall.

When a Keno official confirmed his win this afternoon, the Bateau Bay local recounted how he discovered his winning news.

“I didn’t check my ticket until this morning, when I checked the numbers online,” he explained.

“When I first checked them I thought I’d only got seven numbers and was pretty happy with that.

“Then I double checked them again and I thought to myself ‘hang on – I’ve got one more number!’.

“I double checked it again a few more times after that just to make sure!”

When asked how the stoked bloke plans to spend his Keno Fun Money, he confessed the amount would be ‘eloquently sufficient’ enough for him to fully enjoy.

“I’ll be heading off on a trip I think! Not sure where yet but definitely somewhere I’ve always wanted to go!” he declared happily.

“There are a few things we could do around the house with it too. I haven’t given it much thought yet really.

“But the amount is eloquently sufficient enough for me to enjoy a few things!”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno 8 Spot entry at The Entrance Leagues Club, 3 Bay Village Road, Bateau Bay.

The Entrance Leagues Club marketing manager Oliva Bennett said it was exciting to hear her venue had sold a winning ticket to one of their customers.

“We were thrilled when we discovered a local had scored such a great prize!” she exclaimed.

“We can’t wait to share the news with our patrons so they know we are a winning venue and there are chances to win big at The Entrance Leagues Club.

“It has been a little while since we’ve sold an 8 Spot win, but we did have another patron snag a $4,000 Keno win on the same day so hopefully there are more wins to come!

“Congratulations to our winner! We are so happy for you!”

In 2018, Keno crowned 16 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $36.47 million.Ten of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT.
