A Banora Point man enjoyed more than just a chicken parmy when he went out for lunch at his local club, winning a Keno 8 Spot prize of more than $60,000.

The New South Wales player held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game 260 on Thursday 7 November 2019, taking home a $61,820.30 prize.

Speaking with a Keno official this afternoon, the stoked bloke explained he was still in a state of shock.

“I was having a late lunch and watching the draw when I saw my numbers come up,” he shared.

“I didn’t think it could be right, so I went up to the counter and the girl there confirmed it.

“I was shocked! It’s a great surprise.

“It’s certainly not something that happens every day.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the happy winner said he’d need some time to think.

“I don’t know what I will do with it to be honest,” he explained.

“I will share some with my family and the rest I will keep in the bank for a rainy day.”

The regular Keno player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his Keno 8 Spot winning entry at Club Banora, Leisure Drive, Banora Point.

Club Banora gaming manager Ben Wilkinson said the club was celebrating selling a Keno 8 Spot winning entry.

“We were absolutely thrilled when we discovered the win,” he said.

“It’s great news for the club and for the community!

“We are so happy for our winner and we wish him all the best with his prize.

“We can’t wait to sell some more major prizes to our patrons.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 17 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $47.2 million.  Nine of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle man who pocketed the biggest Keno jackpot in Australian history - a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize worth $7,898,799.30.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 34.19 million Keno wins totalling more than $472.51 million at pubs and clubs across the region in the 12 months to 30 June 2019.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win $10,000 by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.ken.com.au.

About Keno

Keno is a fun game played at more than 3,400 pubs and clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria.

A Keno draw occurs approximately every three minutes. During each draw, 20 numbers are drawn from 1 to 80. Players simply match the numbers on their entry to the numbers drawn for a chance to win over $1 million.

There are a range of Keno games to play, including Keno Mega Millions – a higher jackpot version of Keno Classic that uses the same Keno ball draw but gives players the chance to win $5 million or more.
