An Avoca Beach couple are excitedly planning their dream wedding and honeymoon after winning a Keno Classic 8 Spot prize on the weekend.

The Central Coast players held a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in game 804 on Saturday 11 July 2020. They take home a major prize worth $49,835.80.

The winning Keno 8 Spot entry was purchased at Avoca Beach Bowling Club, Avoca Dr & Townsend Ave, Avoca Beach.

Speaking with a Keno official today, the overjoyed couple relived the moment they won their Keno prize.

“I wasn’t watching the draw actually. I was outside and we were watching the footy instead,” he explained.

“I happened to see someone had won the 8 Spot prize and I was looking around the club thinking, ‘how many people would actually have eight numbers or be playing Keno?’.

“No one was yahooing or seemed really excited, so I had a feeling it could’ve been us.

“I went inside and told my partner I thought we won. We went up to the counter and that’s when they told us.

“My partner almost collapsed! I thought I might have to give her CPR because she was that excited.

“It’s funny because when we play, we usually get five numbers, but my partner had a gut feeling to play eight. So, we both picked our favourite numbers and the clouds came together!

“It’s incredible.

“We didn’t celebrate because we were too shocked, but once we get the money we will go out for a really nice dinner.”

When asked how they intended to enjoy their Keno fun money, the lovebirds declared they had some exciting plans set for their future.

“We have been doing it tough lately, so this really gives us another chance,” the winning man explained.

“This is going to go towards our wedding and our honeymoon!

“It’s so exciting. I don’t think you’ll be able to get my wife out of the spa bath on our honeymoon; she’ll be getting the full pamper treatment.”

Avoca Beach Bowling Club venue manager Scott Galloway said he couldn’t be happier for the winning patrons.

“How excellent is that!” he said.

“We are absolutely over-the-moon! It’s unreal news for our winners, the club and for the community.

“When the couple realised they’d won, they were so excited! There was lots of cheering and laughing.

“It was an incredible moment to be a part of.

“They said the win would be life-changing for them, so we couldn’t be happier they won.

“We were certainly due for another major win, so hopefully we have some more soon!”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.
