A Narrandera woman is celebrating a heartwarming festive win after her late husband's Keno numbers delivered her a $59,000 Keno prize.
The New South Wales resident scored the Keno Classic 8 spot jackpot in draw 970, drawn Sunday 22 December 2024 and pocketed $59,508.70.
The gleeful grandmother was still in shock when speaking to an official from Keno earlier this morning.
“I’m great,” she said.
“I’m still working, and I’ll be working through the holidays, so it still hasn’t quite sunk in.
“It’s quite a special win because I’ve been using the same numbers my husband used ever since he passed away.
“It’s come just in time for Christmas. I’ve got to say it’s the best Christmas present I ever got!
“Thank you very much!”
When asked how she planned to use her newfound treasure, the winning woman shared she’d need some time to think about it.
“I honestly haven’t thought about it. My grandkids have though,” she laughed.
“I’m sure they’ll be getting spoilt, and it’ll make Christmas even better.”
Her winning entry was purchased from Narrandera Ex-Servicemens Club, 41 Bolton Street, Narrandera.
Narrandera Ex-Servicemens Club team member Jess Baldwin said it was an amazing feeling to have sold a major Keno winning entry to a local grandmother.
“It’s super exciting! What a great way to end the year,” she said.
“We’re very happy for our regular that took home the win. There was lots of buzz and excitement in the club when she won.
“It’s been a little while since our last major prize so we couldn’t be more thrilled.
“Fingers crossed we’ll have another big win soon and a big congratulations to the winning woman.”
