A South Coast grandmother is set to become the family favourite as she prepares to shower her beloved grandchildren after winning more than $690,000 in a game of Keno.
The New South Wales resident scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in Keno draw 824, drawn Friday 22 August 2025. She can look forward to a thrilling $693,950.30.
The gleeful grandmother admitted she was still processing the wondrous news when speaking to an official from Keno.
“I’m still in shock but obviously very delighted at the same time!” she laughed.
“I just can’t wait to spoil my beautiful grandkids. They’re very dear to me!
“I actually initially saw that someone had won the Keno 9 Spot jackpot, which at first, I was disappointed as I assumed it wasn’t me.
“My disappointment quickly turned into shock and happiness when I realised it was in fact me.”
Overcome with emotion, the jubilant winner immediately called her daughter to share the news.
“I rang my daughter to tell her the wonderful news, and we both started crying together on the phone,” she said.
“There was so much joy and excitement.
“This will help myself and my family so much and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you so much!”
Her Keno Classic entry was purchased at Club Sapphire, 119 Main Street, Merimbula.
Club Sapphire venue supervisor Sarah Thompson said she was thrilled to hear the club had sold a major prize-winning Keno entry.
“It’s unbelievable! It would be life-changing to win that amount of money, so were very happy for our winner,” she said.
“Patrons and customers alike are all very excited. It goes to show you just have to be in it with a chance to win it.
