A Murwillumbah mum is struggling to keep her eyes open today after a sleepless night planning what she’ll do with her Keno Classic 9 Spot prize.

The New South Wales player held a Keno Classic 9 Spot winning entry in game 653 on Monday 26 July 2021 and takes home $196,891.90.

Sharing her excitement with an official from Keno this morning, the regular player explained she was still struggling to come to terms with her win.

“Thank you,” she gushed.

“I didn’t sleep much last night. I was so excited!

“I put the ticket on yesterday and had a little win, so I decided to replay it.

“I felt so lucky!

“I just didn’t think it was true to begin with. I was so happy.”

With almost $200,000 about to hit her bank account, she said it would set her up for the future.

“It has come at a really good time,” she explained.

“I am going to pay a few bills and put the rest in the bank for now, and I will help out my parents.”

The winning Keno entry was purchased at Murwillumbah Services Memorial Club, 10 Wollumbin Street, Murwillumbah.

Murwillumbah Services Memorial Club CEO Guy Diven said it had been a couple of years since their last major win.

“Our members and staff on duty were ecstatic to think that someone in our club has won a life-changing amount,” he said.

“Our venue has a strong history of selling large winning entry tickets over its 30-year association with Keno.

“Congratulations to the winner! We  hope she really enjoys her prize.”

In 2020, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 59.9 million wins collectively worth more than $840.6 million.

During this time, Keno crowned 19 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $42.3 million.  Nine of these major winners were from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Newcastle woman who was stunned to pocket a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot prize of more than $5.4 million.

Players in New South Wales and the ACT enjoyed more than 25.3 million Keno wins totalling more than $393.2 million at pubs and clubs across the state in 2020.

Keno players can also enter into the monthly second chance draw for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes by scanning their ticket at win.secondchance.keno.com.au.
